Acupuncture
Very thin disposable needles are inserted at various acupuncture points located along energetic meridians on the body.
Electro-Acupuncture
This involves connecting the needles to a micro or milli current. It helps speed up the recovery process and provides more intense stimulation. It stimulates cellular healing and regeneration.
Acupressure
Pressure is applied to various acupuncture points or trigger points on the body.
Cupping
Glass or plastic biomagnetic cups are applied to the skin and a vacuum is created between the cup and the body. Cupping helps alleviate pain and it brings toxins to the surface so that they can be released from the body. It is often done on the back to ease back pain. The abdomen can also be cupped to help with digestive disorders.
Gua Sha
Gua Sha means to "scrape toxins." A piece of bone or jade is scraped along the skin to bring toxins to the surface of the skin so that they can be released from the body. Gua Sha in is often done on the neck to relieve sore throats and on the upper back to release congestion from the lungs.
Tuning Forks
Tuning Forks ground the body and bring the body into balance using the various sound frequencies. These are also a great option for the patient that is afraid of acupuncture needles.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion is the warming of the mugwort plant (Ai Ye) near acupuncture points on the body. It alleviates pain, warms the channels, and activates the qi in the meridians (energetic channels). It is especially effective at warming the womb for the treatment of infertility, dysmenorrhea, and amenorrhea.
Chinese Medicinal Herbs
Raw herbs, powdered herbs (also known as granules) or pills are recommended according to your bodies specific disharmony. There are thousands of Chinese herbs and hundreds of Ancient Chinese Herbal Formulas to choose from. These traditional formulas are then modified with addtional Chinese herbs according tongue and pulse diagnosis and the patient's chief complaint.
Chinese Dietary Therapy
Nutritional advice and counseling is given based on your specific body constitution and chief complaint. Foods will be selected based on their taste, temperature, healing properties, and therapeutic actions.
